Diagnosing and Treating Tree and Vegetation Problems
Whether it's a problem you already have, or a check-up to determine the healthiness of your trees and vegetation, a Certified Arborist can assist you with specific diagnostics of your problems and prescribe a long-term solution. Off-the-shelf sprays or fertilizers can offer a quick fix, but are you helping your trees, or just covering up a problem?

Hazard Tree Evaluation
Trees aren't hazardous until there are targets. Trees or parts of trees may fall and cause injury to people or damage to property. While every tree has the potential to fall, only a small number actually hit something or someone. An arborist can identify the common defects associated with tree hazards and evaluate the seriousness of these defects. Regular tree care will help identify hazardous trees and the risk they present. Once the hazard is recognized, steps may be taken to reduce the likelihood of the tree falling and injuring a person or property.

Technical Removal

Construction Mitigation
It is a simple fact of life: established old-growth trees don't much care for the construction activities of people! Some of the problems created by construction include:

3. Root Loss - from utility trenches, foundations, driveways, and sidewalks.
4. Improper Pruning - by backhoes, bulldozers, and sawzalls to name a few!
5. Toxic materials - paint, concrete, or asphalt.
6. Mechanical damage from truck bumpers and heavy equipment.

Fertilization
In addition to pre-construction fertilization, your new site should be fertilized every spring and fall for three years. Arborilogical West provides advanced fertilization services to protect your trees and plants.

Watering Plans
Arborilogical West can help you formulate the water requirements for your trees. Their needs differ widely. The bottom line: it can take 3 to 5 years before root-loss problems show up in the crown of your majestic tree. If those trees are important (and of course they are!) to your long-term landscape plans, the best money you will spend is with your local Certified Arborist.
